Rio opening

We visited Rio on the open day (30th July). We thought the refurbishing/refitting it for its new use was an excellent job with a high standard of work and it is good to see the building back in use. A lot of thought had gone into making it very child friendly.

The traffic/safety issues are still there of course but we were assured that a close view will be kept on these and if not working they will be revisited.  We are still pushing for a new drop-off point being formed opposite 25 Dundee Road. We are still not convinced the garden is a safe environment for young children to play in but the security aspect of this has been addressed by fencing.

There is a very enthusiastic team involved which was encouraging to see. Morag MacNicol is the on site Home Manager. Her direct phone number is 477634 and she stressed that any member of the public should get in touch if there are any issues that are causing problems.
