Incinerator refused

On Tuesday 24th November PKC's Development Control Committee refused consent for the Waste to Energy Plant at Shore Road. .

Although the Committee did not accept Councillor Caddell's motion about recommending revocation, we have been successful in getting the message across and Council Officials have been asked to prepare a report on revocation.

The motion at least allows the full Council to consider and vote on revocation which we could not have guaranteed before the meeting. In addition, our message on revocation has been accepted by a large number of people - virtually every speaker opposing used the word 'revocation' with some very powerful and convincing messages.

However, the battle is not yet over.
