Millennium Park

We had an update on the problems caused by vandals in the Millennium Park at our June meeting. Neighbouring residents have been disturbed by loud noise and  even occasional attempts to enter their property. There has been drinking, swearing, damage to tables, benches and fences and the deposit of litter including broken glass.

The local policeman assured us in March that there were to be increased patrols and these seem to have made a difference. Every call to the police is logged so it is important that we keep reporting instances of unacceptable behaviour.

There was a suggestion that the tables which are out of sight of Muirhall Road be moved. At the moment there is no budget for that. It was agreed that we would go on monitoring the situation to see if the increased police presence continues to make a difference and then reconsider the matter.

We are happy to report that Perth & Kinross Council has now agreed to adopt the Park which means that it has assumed responsibility for the upkeep including cutting the grass and emptying the litter and dog poo bins.
